Retail growth strong

Retail sales for the three months to November had grown by a record 17.3 percent, which suggested that the consumer boom would extend its run, Statistics SA said yesterday. Stats SA said this was the biggest real increase for any three-month period since 2000. Gryphon Asset Management chief investment officer Abri du Plessis said December sales were generally good and better than in September and October.
